Working to Renew the Foundations of Mission Farm

      When you venture through Vermont, do you marvel at the landscape and the historic homes? Do you wonder about their history and the stories of the generations of people who lived there? One such place is Mission Farm in Killington. When you drive down the flats of Killington, glance east to see a small grey granite church and a couple of old red buildings nestled between the Ottauquechee River Valley and a tree-filled mountain side. It all looks like a postcard of an era gone by.       It is worth taking the detour down Mission Farm Road to get a closer look at the church and walk the trails on the property. On the roadside in front of the church, you will find a bronze plaque that identifies it as “Mission of the Church of Our Saviour placed on the National Register of Historic Places on Oct. 29, 1992.” The property, known by locals as Mission Farm, includes a 200 year-old farm house, a guest house, a bakery, and hiking trails sitting on 172 acres in...
